Take a look: 87% believe that lawmakers should start working immediately on changes to extend the life of Social Security and avoid cuts to benefits. 81% say that Congress should NEVER cut Social Security and Medicare. 93% believe the U.S. should increase or maintain benefits. And 90% overwhelmingly want 2024 candidates to discuss their plans to ensure Social Security’s solvency. But despite all that, the GOP continues to attack these essential programs. The newest House Republican Speaker Mike Johnson even called for the immediate creation of a debt commission that’s rumored to “be investigating” potential cuts to Medicare and Social Security!
