My uncle: the threat to democracy

Hi Harris, it’s Dr. Mary Trump with an urgent message about the state of our democracy. My uncle – Donald Trump, the man who used his position in the White House and the power that went along with it to incite an insurrection, attempt to steal an American election, and do his best to destroy American democracy – is still running for president and maintains a huge lead in the GOP primary. And he’s promising to use his power to attack anyone who stands against him. He even told Sean Hannity that he’d rule as a dictator on “day one.” It’s clear: if Donald Trump is re-elected, he’ll abuse the office of the presidency and use the government to punish his enemies. Harris, we cannot let this happen! We’ve already seen the damage done when he and his extremist supporters take power. So, I wanted to reach out personally to ask you, Harris, to add your name now to the list of Democrats DEMANDING that Donald finally be held accountable for his actions. We need 20,000 signatures before midnight tonight. Democrats like us must be committed to doing every single thing we can think of to keep Donald and his loyal cronies out of public office, including electing more Democrats to governors’ offices across the country. Because if Democrats don’t win, it could be the last free and fair election we ever have in this country. By taking action right now, to support Democrats, especially Democratic governors who are expanding voting rights, protecting civil rights, enshrining LGBTQ+ rights and women’s right to choose, and fighting climate change, we’re protecting our very democracy.
