My friend, Gov. Tim Walz, is a true leader

Hi there, it’s Meghan Meehan-Draper, Executive Director at the DGA. This month has been a whirlwind, Harris! When I heard the news that Governor Tim Walz was Kamala Harris’s VP pick, I was ecstatic! It’s been thrilling to watch Democrats across the country get to know and love Tim. And after he officially became the nominee last week at the DNC, I’m more fired up than ever. Working with Governor Walz closely as DGA Chair has been such a rewarding and wonderful experience. He was a tireless advocate for electing more Democratic governors across the country and held Republicans accountable for their failed and “weird” agenda, all while helping us shatter fundraising records. As governor, he has shown the country the power of spending political capital rather than banking it: enshrining reproductive freedom into state law, expanding voting rights, ensuring universal free school meals, and passing paid family and medical leave. It's no wonder Kamala picked him to help her drive our country forward. He’s not only ready to do the job, but I know he’s going to excel at it. To see a Democratic governor get so much well-deserved attention means the country is recognizing what we at the DGA have always known – Dem Govs get it done! But the work we do is only possible with the support of folks like you, Harris.
