re: Chuck Schumer

Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer and 9 other Democratic Senators voted with the GOP.

Justice Democrats

Harris,

Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer and 9 other Democratic Senators voted like cowards and refused to stand up to Donald Trump and Elon Musk last Friday. If you think do-nothing Democrats like them should be challenged in the next Democratic primary elections, pitch in to our 2026 recruitment fund now →

Tweet by Gabrien Gregory: By voting for the CR, these 10 Democrats voted yes for the Trump/Musk agenda instead of putting up ANY fight at all for working people screwed by this administration. They must all be primaried. Durbin, King, Schatz, Schumer, Cortez Masto, Hassan, Fetterman, Peters, Gillibrand, Shaheen

Instead of using the leverage they have (as Republicans have done time and again when in the minority to stop progressive legislation) these Democrats threw working families under the bus and voted to advance Republicans' disastrous funding bill without any consequences for or limitations to Trump and Musk's power grabs.

This isn't what an opposition party looks like, and the American people are sick and tired of it. Democratic voters across the political spectrum are united in anger over this, while progressive groups are leading the call for the Party to clean house, with Politico highlighting our opposition.

Politico: 'Uniting anger': Democrats fume over Schumer's handling of funding fight. The longtime New York senator faces a precarious moment.

As Sludge pointed out, the Democratic establishment including Schumer, the DSCC, and DSCC Chair Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand have been fundraising off of resisting Trump and Musk's government takeover while refusing to take real action to stop it.

We need REAL leaders in Congress who will fight for working people and treat this threat to our democracy with the urgency and boldness it deserves.
