Hello, Harris,
I'm Roy Cooper, and I am running to be the next U.S. Senator from North Carolina. I believe that our brightest days are still ahead, but we have to work together to fix what's broken in Washington.
Politicians in DC are running up our debt, ripping away our health care, disrespecting our veterans, cutting help for the poor and putting our Medicare at risk — just to give tax breaks to the very rich. I've had enough.
We have to change things, but I need you with me. Together, we can win this Senate race and help Democrats take back the majority. Will you split a contribution of $20 or another amount that's right for you between my campaign and Local Democracy Project to get us started off strong?
These are no ordinary times, Harris. I believe elected leaders should work to create safety, prosperity and opportunity for every American. Republicans in Washington don't seem to share that sense of duty.
When I look at what's happening in Washington now, lawmakers are tearing down our middle class to put even more money in billionaires' pockets. They're cutting critical jobs at agencies that help keep our country running. Not even our National Parks or Weather Service are safe.
They're punching down — attacking the most vulnerable among us — to make themselves seem strong. Something has to give.
There's another path, Harris. When I was Governor of North Carolina, we expanded Medicaid. We passed pay raises for public school teachers and we built a strong economy by investing in clean energy and investing in our people.
Washington can look like this, too. It's time to elect leaders who are ready to do the hard work of strengthening our middle class, restoring voting rights and reproductive rights, protecting our environment and ensuring every child has the excellent education they deserve.
If this is the America you believe in, this campaign is for you, Harris.
Let's do this together,
Roy Cooper
