Harris,
Trump officials at the highest levels planned a military strike using the Signal messaging app, an unsecured commercial platform the NSA had explicitly warned against. They discussed classified timelines, aircraft deployment, and target information. And then, unbelievably, they accidentally invited a journalist to the chat.
Yes, you read that right.
Michael Waltz, Trump's National Security Adviser, added Jeffrey Goldberg, the editor-in-chief of The Atlantic, to the Signal thread without realizing it. And still, nobody in the group stopped the conversation. Nobody questioned why there was an unknown number in a war-planning thread. Instead, they continued leaking critical information, including a "TEAM UPDATE" so sensitive The Atlantic didn't even publish it originally because they believed it could've endangered U.S. troops.
Among those in the chat: Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, Vice President JD Vance, Secretary of State Marco Rubio, CIA Director John Ratcliffe, Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard, and several other Trump loyalists.
Some offered "kudos" and emoji reactions after the attack. One, Steve Witkoff, was participating from Moscow, while meeting with Vladimir Putin. Let that sink in: war plans, leaked in real time, in a group chat, with someone literally inside Russia. Was Witkoff using unsecured Kremlin wifi too?
Now they're lying about it. Hegseth claims "no classified info" was shared, even though independent national security experts and former Pentagon officials say that's a flat-out lie. Others, like Gabbard and Ratcliffe, are denying the obvious. Trump himself brushed it off, calling Waltz a "good man" who "learned a lesson."
And no one, not a single one of them, has taken responsibility. They're circling the wagons, covering it up, and hoping we forget. We can't let that happen. We must demand accountability. Everyone involved must resign or be fired now.
Hegseth should be gone already. Waltz should be next. But the rot runs deeper. These weren't rookies. These were experienced military, intelligence, and political operatives who know better and still used Signal against warnings from the NSA and the Pentagon.
They handed over America's most sensitive information like it was a group text about where to get lunch.
This goes beyond incompetence. This is criminal recklessness. It violated federal records laws. It very likely broke the Espionage Act. Democrats must hold the line right now, demanding real resignations, firings, and hearings, and we the public must pressure Republicans to join them.
The hypocrisy is staggering. These are the same people who dragged Hillary Clinton through hell over emails. Now they're leaking active war plans in a chat thread over a commercial app with a journalist… and pretending like it's no big deal? Are you kidding?
We need to set the bar where it belongs: Resign. Fire. Impeach. Investigate and Repeat. Accountability should begin at the top, but it shouldn't stop until everyone responsible for this dangerous national security breach is gone.
Thank you for standing up today.
