We’re *this close* to killing Trump’s huge, horrible mega-bill

Breaking: Donald Trump's so-called "One Big Beautiful Bill" is on the brink of collapse in the Senate.

Harris,

Breaking: Donald Trump's so-called "One Big Beautiful Bill" is on the brink of collapse.1

Trump can only afford to lose three Republican votes in the Senate, and several are expressing serious doubts. Also, some of the worst parts of the bill have been ruled in violation of Senate rules, so Republicans are scrambling at the last minute to rewrite or remove huge sections of the bill.2

Let's be clear: This wouldn't be happening without the enormous grassroots backlash from progressives all over the country.

But this is crunch time. The Senate is pushing to pass this disastrous mega-bill THIS WEEKEND, so this is the moment we need to ramp up the pressure to the max.

Will you rush an urgent donation to Demand Progress Action to help defeat Trump's disastrous "Big Beautiful" mega-bill, and push for other key reforms?

The news has been coming so fast and furious that it's been hard to keep up. So here's a quick summary of where things are at right now.

On May 22, in the middle of the night, the House of Representatives passed Trump's big, ugly mega-bill, a 1,116-page monstrosity that would make almost every part of our lives worse.3

Nearly 14 million people would lose health care.4 Eleven million would lose food stamps, half of them kids.5 Medicare would be cut by $500 million.6 All so they can hand $3.8 trillion in tax giveaways disproportionately to Trump and his billionaire friends.7

Worse yet, the bill would strip states' ability to regulate dangerous AI technology and provides funding for nearly 18,000 new immigration enforcement agents to supercharge Trump's lawless mass deportations.8

There's so much more, but you get the picture. It's an absolute nightmare.

Trump gave the Senate a July 4 deadline to pass the bill — but over the past week, everything has started to fall apart. Grassroots pressure has caused several senators to waver, while the Senate Parliamentarian has ruled that many of the worst provisions of the bill require 60 votes to pass, which they definitely don't have.9

If we can keep ramping up the pressure, we're *this close* to dealing a massive, crushing defeat to Trump's entire agenda.

This is it. Tomorrow could be too late. Will you donate $20 right now to help power Demand Progress Action's final push to kill the "Big Beautiful" mega-bill, and push for other key reforms?

With gratitude,

The team at Demand Progress Action
