Republicans in the House have released their proposed budget - it raises the retirement age, guts Social Security benefits, and fast-tracks Medicare privatization.
FIGHT BACK! Donate today to FIRE Republican Jay Obernolte, take back the House, and expand Social Security and Medicare!
As I see it, the proposals from the Republican Study Committee, including those championed by my opponent Rep. Jay Obernolte, are dangerously misguided. They propose a stark deviation from our duty to protect the most vulnerable. By raising the retirement age and cutting critical social safety nets, they're not solving problems, they're creating new ones.
Rep. Obernolte, would rather slash Social Security benefits by 13 percent, raise the retirement age to 69, and privatize Medicare under the guise of "Medicare Advantage" than to ask the ultra-rich to pay their fair share. In fact, the RSC budget calls for giving them MORE tax cuts!
Harris, Jay Obernolte and the Republican Party have lost touch with the needs of working families who are the backbone of our nation. They are selling out our future for the benefit of a few!
Will you chip in to FLIP the House and send me to Washington where I will fight to EXPAND Social Security and Medicare?
Rep. Obernolte and the Republicans propose cutting Social Security to the tune of $1.5 trillion! They would raise the retirement age, reduce the annual cost of living increases, and eliminate spousal and children's benefits!
Cuts to Medicare would include a rush to privatize it as well as taking away their power to negotiate lower drug prices - a giveaway to Big Pharma!
These policies benefit multimillionaires and billionaires, but they're a direct attack on everyday people like you and me. In Congress, I will fight like hell to defend Social Security and Medicare!
Chip in to DEFEAT Rep. Jay Obernolte and take back the House majority so we can expand Social Security and Medicare!
Social Security and Medicare are not just government spending programs, they are promises from generation to generation.
