But while the GOP has been trying to drag our country backward by eroding our rights and our democracy, President Biden and Democratic governors have been fighting tirelessly for progress. Democrats: protecting and strengthening benefits like Social Security and Medicare. Republicans: calling for cuts to these vital programs that millions of Americans rely on. Democrats: defending and expanding reproductive rights including access to abortion, IVF, and contraception. Republicans: moving to ban nearly all abortions or severely restrict access to them in 21 states, seeking to criminalize abortion and punish those seeking an abortion, and even threatening IVF and contraception. Democrats: defending and expanding our voting rights. Republicans: attacking mail-in voting, signing extreme voter suppression laws, establishing an election police unit to intimidate voters, and even refusing to admit that Donald Trump lost the 2020 election.  It's clear that one party has the interests of the American people in mind and the other is fighting for a dangerous agenda that would harm millions of families.
