Last month, I wrote to you about the morally bankrupt billionaire Elon Musk, and how his PAC was spending huge sums of money to defeat EMILYs List-endorsed women in tough congressional races. Well, unfortunately, I have an update on the MAGA Musk situation, and it's not a good one.
Musk's PAC is now investing in Republican get-out-the-vote efforts in the critical swing states of Wisconsin and Arizona. And if this weren't concerning enough, he's also telling people he'll pay them $47 for every swing state voter they recruit to sign some nonsense petition he's circulating — essentially paying people to help the Trump campaign identify key voters AND incentivizing people to vote for Trump with actual money. Not great, Harris!
We need to talk about Elon Musk. The richest man in the world. Laughed with Donald Trump about firing workers on strike. That guy.
Musk and his PAC have spent $59 million on Donald Trump's presidential campaign, $2.4 million for House Republicans, and $10 million to mobilize the GOP voter base in critical swing states. These donations are directly impacting races where EMILYs List-endorsed candidates are running.
Here are just some of the donations Elon Musk's PAC has made to anti-choice Republicans running against EMILYs List women this cycle:
$212,062 in Ohio's 13th Congressional District against Rep. Emilia Sykes
$130,500 in Washington's 3rd Congressional District against Rep. Marie Gluesenkamp Perez
$109,702 in New Jersey's 7th Congressional District against Sue Altman
$75,897 in Colorado's 8th Congressional District against Rep. Yadira Caraveo
Many of our endorsed candidates in critical toss-up races are now facing an even steeper uphill battle against the cash of Republican billionaires like Musk.
Elon Musk thinks he can buy this election for his anti-choice extremist cronies. We need to show him he can't.
