Hey, DOGE, we’ll see you in court

This lawsuit could stop DOGE in its tracks, but going up against the Trump administration won't be cheap or easy

Harris,

The chainsaw cuts imposed by Elon Musk and his Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) minions are undermining airline safety, Social Security, public health, food safety, the environment, public schools, and more.1

It's complete chaos, and much of it is flagrantly illegal — so we're helping to take them to court.

With our backing, a courageous group of federal workers is suing DOGE for illegally connecting an outside server to a key government network to harvest data, including the names and email accounts of federal employees.2

If successful, this lawsuit could stop DOGE in its tracks — but going up against the Trump administration won't be cheap or easy, and the legal expenses are already piling up.

So we're asking you today: Will you make a donation to Demand Progress to help support our work, including the lawsuit to stop DOGE from illegally accessing sensitive government data?

After sending huge swaths of the federal government into the wood chipper, Elon Musk supposedly decided to shift his focus to trying to save his flailing Tesla corporation.

But Musk isn't going away forever — and neither is DOGE. In fact, Musk is reportedly about to hand off the leadership of DOGE to the one person who could be even worse: Russell Vought, the architect of Trump's Project 2025.3

That's why we're fighting back.

The lawsuit we're supporting accuses DOGE of accessing a key network at the Office of Personnel Management (OPM), which is essentially the government's H.R. department, coordinating the hiring and training of new employees, managing benefits and salaries, and the like.4

Infiltrating OPM is one of the key ways that DOGE has been able to illegally hijack so much of the federal government, and that's why this lawsuit is so important.

Demand Progress is proud to be able to support these brave public servants and help provide the necessary funding for this legal battle. And your donations are absolutely essential to support all our work.

Will you donate $20 to help support our work, including supporting the lawsuit to stop DOGE's massive power grab?

With gratitude,

The team at Demand Progress Action
