I’m honored to endorse this working class champion for Congress:

Justice Democrats

Harris,

I'm supporting Donavan McKinney for Congress, who's running to represent the congressional district next to mine.

Here's Donavan with his family

Working at Michigan's largest healthcare union and serving in Michigan's State House, Donavan has led fights to secure workers' rights, get big money out of politics, and ensure access to clean air and water. Like me, he grew up in the shadows of corporate polluters in Detroit, and he's fighting to replace the lead pipes that poison our children.

We're demanding a democracy that's of, by, and for the people, where the federal government stops spending so much taxpayer money on war crimes and prisons, and instead invests in our communities' urgent needs.

Donavan knows how quickly we need to act because he has lived through struggles such as housing and food insecurity. He puts the people first, and if elected to Congress, Donavan will provide working class representation for one of the poorest congressional districts in the country.

This is quite a contrast to his opponent, a self-funded incumbent who spent over $17 million of his own wealth to bankroll his own Congressional campaigns. This incumbent also takes money from corporate PACs, and last year spent more taxpayer money than any other member of Congress on self-promoting ads.

Meanwhile, Donavan isn't taking a dime of corporate PAC money, and he has led policies to challenge corporate influence in politics. We need him in Congress, and he needs grassroots support to get there.

Will you join me in supporting Donavan McKinney for Congress by splitting a contribution between Justice Democrats, his campaign, and mine today? Together, we'll push for a government of, by, and for the people, not the billionaires.

Split $5

Donavan said: "I'm running for my baby boys, because the block you live on shouldn't determine how far you go. I'm running for you, because I know we deserve better."

We do deserve better, and we deserve representatives who actually fight for their communities.

Donavan is a true public servant, and while in office he has secured real wins for the people—including over $600 million to replace lead pipes and more than $10 million in community violence intervention programs.

In Congress, he will keep fighting for public education, public transit, changes to our racist criminal legal system, affordable housing, universal healthcare, and more.

He'll also be a partner in the fight for a universal basic income. I've led policies to send monthly direct payments to individuals and families, and as more Americans are struggling to pay bills and stay housed, we need more Congressional support for transformative anti-poverty programs.

Will you help me and Donavan McKinney fight for the society we all deserve by chipping into our campaigns for Congress today?

Split a Donation

Thank you for having our backs and keeping up the fight for a better future. We'll keep fighting together.

In solidarity,

Rashida
