Harris,
This June, let's take patriotism back.
On June 6, 2025 -- the anniversary of D-Day -- veterans, military families, and allies will gather on the National Mall in Washington DC, and in cities across the country.
Not to bow before a would-be strongman. Not to cheer for tanks and fighter jets parading down Pennsylvania Avenue in honor of a President's birthday. But to reclaim what patriotism truly means: a Veterans' Rally on the National Mall to celebrate the defending of democracy, and keeping our promises to those who put their lives on the line to protect it.
While Donald Trump plans a militarized birthday parade to glorify himself, he and his GOP allies in Congress are slashing the very programs that veterans rely on:
-
Cutting VA funding, threatening lifesaving care
-
Privatizing veteran health services, putting profit over well-being
-
Gutting disability payments and pensions, especially for older and disabled veterans
-
Purging veterans from federal jobs through his Schedule F plan
-
Politicizing the military, turning our apolitical armed forces into a partisan weapon
This isn't patriotism. It's authoritarianism wrapped in a flag.
America must keep its promise to those who served. Support the "Unite for Veterans" march on June 6 by adding your name now!
True patriotism means standing with the people who risked everything for our freedoms -- not parading them before a leader who is seeking to curtail the very rights they fought for. The right to free speech, the right to redress grievances, the right to due process, the right to vote.
It means protecting veterans' earned benefits, keeping the military independent from politics, and defending the rule of law against those who would trample it for personal gain.
Veterans' benefits are not favors. They are earned. And it's our responsibility to see that our nation honors its debt to its veterans. That's why we're marching on June 6: to show what love of country really looks like. Not fanfare for one man's ego, but solidarity with those who served all of us.
We demand that Congress protect earned benefits, defend federal jobs, and preserve the rule of law. No cuts, no delays, and no privatization of services. Congress must stop Trump's proposed Schedule F purge and protect veterans in public service. Above all, we must keep the military nonpartisan and uphold constitutional checks and balances.
This is a defining moment for our country. Will we let patriotism be twisted into a tool for authoritarian rule? Or will we reclaim it as a call to serve, support, and stand up for the people and principles that make this nation worth fighting for?
Join the march on June 6 virtually by adding your name now. Show the world that patriotism means showing up -- not for power and spectacle, but for those who served with honor.
Thank you for standing up for the true defenders of freedom.
