No new judges for the man trying to dismantle democracy

Trump's allies are pushing legislation to let him appoint 22 new federal judges. But the perpetrator of a constitutional crisis should not be given power to subjugate the courts.

Harris, The MAGA movement has spent years turning the judicial branch into a political weapon -- and now, they want to take it even further. At a time when Donald Trump is actively undermining the rule of law, his Republican allies in Congress are pushing the so-called JUDGES Act -- a bill that would hand Trump the power to appoint 22 new federal judges before the end of his term. This isn't about improving justice. It's about locking in minority rule, empowering MAGA extremists, and protecting the billionaire class that helped Trump rise to power. With the Supreme Court already overrun by Trump-appointed ideologues, we've seen the consequences: reproductive rights dismantled, voting rights gutted, and unlimited money unleashed into our elections. We cannot allow Trump to stack the lower courts with more far-right loyalists who will rubber-stamp his attacks on immigrants, LGBTQ+ people, workers, and women, all while shielding corporate elites from accountability. These are lifetime seats on the bench, and the JUDGES Act would guarantee MAGA control over our justice system for generations. Tell your Representative and Senators: Protect our checks and balances. Don't let Trump further subjugate the judiciary to his whims. Reject the JUDGES Act now. SIGN AND SEND If we want to save our democracy, we must take back the judiciary. That means stopping this power grab now. Trump has already shown his contempt for judicial independence: threatening judges, defying court orders, and laughing off the rule of law, as in the appalling case of Kilmar Abrego Garcia, a legally present father deported to torture in El Salvador despite a Supreme Court ruling. Enough is enough. The courts are supposed to be a check on authoritarian power – not a tool to enforce it. Congress must reject the JUDGES Act and begin the urgent work of restoring balance, independence, and integrity to the judicial branch.
