Pam Bondi just declared war on the First Amendment

Pam Bondi's DOJ just greenlit the harassment of reporters who dare to tell the truth. Congress must act before it's too late.

Harris, Attorney General Pam Bondi is giving Donald Trump's Department of Justice the green light to target reporters with subpoenas, search warrants, and compelled testimony. This will weaponize the federal government to silence the press and protect Trump's fragile ego. We've already seen how this ends. Trump's DOJ secretly seized phone records from reporters at the Washington Post, CNN, and the New York Times during his first term. Now Bondi is preparing to take it even further. Outlets like The Intercept are facing the threat of criminal prosecution simply for doing their jobs by reporting the truth. The message from Trump's DOJ couldn't be more clear: fall in line or face legal harassment. If Congress doesn't act, this will only escalate. The PRESS Act passed the House with unanimous bipartisan support, proving that members of both parties recognize how dangerous this overreach is. Yet the Senate let it die, bowing to obstruction from Trump loyalists. Congress must do anything they can to block Bondi from turning the Justice Department into a political hit squad against journalists. It's time for our representatives to remember their oath and defend it. Tell Congress to stop Pam Bondi's overreach and protect press freedom now. Trump's DOJ is preparing to use the full power of the government to target reporters. From Subpoenas to court orders and raids, nothing is off the table. Every time the government crosses this line, public outrage forces them to back down. But outrage isn't enough. We need a federal law that stops this abuse of power once and for all. We're not asking Congress to reinvent the wheel. We're asking them to protect what should already be protected: the constitutional right of a free press.
