Harris,
Congress is pushing Trump's so-called "Big Beautiful Bill" with trillions of dollars in tax cuts for the rich -- and guess who's footing the bill?
House Republicans have passed legislation that would make the most harmful parts of the 2017 Trump Tax Scam permanent, delivering massive tax cuts to billionaires and big corporations and adding trillions of dollars of debt -- while simultaneously making over $1 trillion in cuts to Medicaid, Medicare, and the SNAP nutrition program.
This bill, at over 1,000 pages, is certainly "Big," but beauty is most certainly in the eye of the stockholder. It would give gigantic tax breaks to the richest 1%, averaging around $90,000 for households making over $1 million. It also gives the 400 wealthiest Americans (all billionaires) a combined $800 million in annual tax cuts.
Large corporations like Amazon, Apple, and Tesla will receive a windfall of $75 billion in new breaks, as ultra-rich business owners will pocket another $107,000 each from expanding the "pass-through" loophole.
And most working families? If they see any tax cut at all, it's likely to be just $40 or $50 per year -- barely enough to cover a single tank of gas. Meanwhile, the proposed cuts to essential programs total more than $1 trillion, gutting health and nutrition programs that protect the lives of seniors, children, people with disabilities, and working families.
Sign and send a direct message to your members of Congress: Protect Medicaid, SNAP, and working families. Reject the $5.5 trillion Billionaire Tax Scam now.
These proposed cuts will take away healthcare from millions, put food out of reach for struggling families, drive more people into poverty, and raise costs for students, workers, and seniors. They would also open the door to future cuts to Social Security, Medicare, and education -- all just to offset the debt created by giving literally trillions of dollars to the rich.
There's not even a trickle down in this scheme -- it's a massive transfer of wealth upward that benefits the ultra-rich while gutting the programs millions of Americans rely on to survive. This plan is not fiscal responsibility -- it's a deliberate shift of resources from the many to the few.
We've seen this playbook before, and it will not surprise you to hear that trickle-down promises don't reach the people who need help most. But the consequences of these cuts are real and devastating.
The good news is we still have a chance, right now, to speak out and demand a government that serves everyone -- not just the wealthiest few. The ultra-rich don't need another handout. But millions of families do need healthcare, food, and a fair shot.
Tell Congress: Protect Medicaid, SNAP, and working families. Reject the so-called "Big Beautiful Bill" tax cuts for billionaires now.
Thank you for standing up for tax fairness and working families.
