Harris,
Protecting the Arctic Refuge is how we protect our future.
The Arctic National Wildlife Refuge is one of the last truly wild places on Earth: a vast, untamed landscape of tundra, wetlands, and rugged wilderness that has sustained the Indigenous Gwich'in people who have protected this land for generations. From polar bears and caribou to millions of migratory birds, the Arctic Refuge is not only a natural wonder: it's a climate lifeline.
Not only would drilling in the Arctic Refuge destroy pristine wilderness, but it would also accelerate the climate crisis that's already bearing down on all of us.
Opening this fragile ecosystem to fossil fuel development would release millions of tons of carbon pollution, further destabilize the Arctic's rapidly warming climate, and intensify the extreme weather, rising seas, and ecological breakdown threatening communities around the world.
Send your Senators and Representative a direct message today urging them to pass the Arctic Refuge Protection Act, to permanently protect this irreplaceable ecosystem from destructive oil and gas development. Protecting wild places like the Arctic Refuge is essential to keeping our planet livable. These ecosystems store massive amounts of carbon, cool the Earth, and shield us from the worst effects of climate change. Once they're gone, we lose one of our most powerful tools to survive the climate crisis.
This is not just a local issue. It's a global emergency. The Arctic is warming four times faster than the rest of the planet, and what happens there affects us all. Protecting this last stretch of wilderness is a moral and scientific imperative.
This legislation would permanently ban oil and gas drilling in the refuge's coastal plain, preserve the integrity of one of the planet's last wild frontiers, and prevent an even worse exacerbation of climate change. We must stand with Indigenous communities, defend biodiversity, and protect the systems that sustain all life -- including our own.
Tell your members of Congress: Pass the Arctic Refuge Protection Act now.
Thank you for protecting the Arctic -- and protecting our future life on Earth.
