Dear Harris,
Since my first-ever campaign in 2018, I haven't taken any money from corporate PACs—a fact that remains true even now in my campaign for California governor.
I'll explain more below about why I took this pledge, but first, will you consider making a $5 donation to my No Corporate PAC campaign ahead of our end-of-month fundraising deadline?
To me, politics has always been about using whatever power you have to make a difference.
That's why, during the first Trump administration, I pressed his CDC Director so hard to make COVID testing free for all Americans, regardless of insurance. It didn't matter that I was nearly last in line to question. People were scared, their lives were at risk, and I had the platform to confront the nation's top officials about this problem.
That same thinking is why I've always refused corporate money. Voters don't trust most politicians to do the right thing. I'm trying to earn back their trust, so I decided to campaign differently from the way other candidates do it. Voters deserve to have confidence that I'm working for them and them only.
As governor, I will bring all stakeholders together to solve California's biggest challenges, and that includes businesses, workers, and consumers. But, I want people's best ideas, no matter where they come from, not just their campaign donations.
Thanks for reading,
Katie
