The largest Medicaid, Medicare, and SNAP cuts in history

Justice Democrats

Harris,

Yesterday, the Senate narrowly passed Donald Trump's "Big Ugly Bill" in a 50-50 vote with JD Vance serving as the tie-breaker. Now, it's being considered in the House as we speak.

We can't emphasize enough just how devastating this budget would be for working families and communities across the nation if passed and signed by Trump. As it stands, the bill would:

  • Slash more than $1 trillion from Medicaid, Medicare, and food assistance — the largest cuts to these programs in U.S. history.
  • Increase taxes on working families making $50,000 or less per year while gifting MASSIVE tax breaks to millionaires and billionaires;

  • Give $150 BILLION to ICE and immigration enforcement, beefing up Trump's Gestapo and mass deportation efforts;

  • Potentially increase energy bills for families by 30% while destroying our path to clean energy.

Today, Justice Democrats members took to the floor of the House to introduce amendments to save Medicaid and SNAP from these life-threatening cuts. They're doing everything they can to stop this bill.

We've seen this before. Republicans are pushing immoral, dangerous policies that hurt working people. And it won't stop here.

If we're going to take back Congress from the GOP's horrific and cruel rule, we need Democrats on the ballot who actually inspire voters to believe in this Party's ability to fight back against fascism and deliver a better future for us all.

Recent polls show nearly half of all Americans haven't even heard of this bill. With the GOP threatening the largest Medicaid, Medicare, and food assistance cuts in history, this is a failure of Party leadership.

We need a real opposition party if we ever want to take back the majority.

Justice Democrats is recruiting and endorsing a new slate of candidates who will take on Republican fascism with the urgency it demands AND grow our progressive bloc in Congress. But we need your help to elect them. Chip in your next $5 today to help us power our campaigns to victory in the midterm elections next year.

In solidarity,

Justice Democrats
