In a time when the LGBTQIA+ community, my community, is facing an unprecedented national state of emergency, we must rise as fierce advocates of love, equality, and acceptance.
Seventy percent of LGBTQIA+ adults say that the nearly 500 anti-LGBTQ+ bills introduced around the country just this year and the widespread anti-LGBTQIA+ rhetoric fomented by the far-right have impacted their mental health, quality of life, and sense of safety.
It's abhorrent that Republicans continue to disparage my community and are often happy to do it to our faces!
In these times, we need equality champions in Congress. I am running to defeat Republican Rep. Jay Obernolte, who voted against the Equality Act to protect the LGBTQIA+ community from discrimination.

A significant number of LGBTQIA+ adults have said they have considered relocating or have already moved to more LGBTQIA+ friendly areas to escape discriminatory and dangerous laws and policies.
LGBTQ+ young people are at an increased risk of mental health crises and suicide because of the way they are treated.
We can't let Republicans stir up dangerous hysteria to distract us from the fact that they want to cut Social Security and give more tax cuts to the rich.
