Since Roe was overturned, the Republican party has been relentless about attacking abortion rights and introducing extreme bans in states across the country. That's why, today, we're taking the time to compile an updated list of our top supporters who know reproductive rights should be protected. Here is what you need to know about Democrats' work to protect reproductive rights: President Biden has issued two executive orders directing a comprehensive slate of actions to protect access to reproductive health care services, including abortion. Democratic governors have protected reproductive rights in their states by signing legislation to codify abortion rights into state law – like MI Gov. Gretchen Whitmer, who repealed a 1931 law that banned abortion without exceptions and even criminalized doctors and nurses. Dem govs including Gavin Newsom, Maura Healey, and Jay Inslee have stockpiled abortion medication in the midst of Republican threats to it. And Democratic governors across the country took executive action to protect reproductive health and veto dangerous abortion bans – like AZ Gov. Katie Hobbs, who has vetoed dangerous legislation and signed an order to prevent the criminalization of abortion in her state. And The Biden administration and Dem govs across the country have taken action to support women’s ability to travel across state lines for medical care. Harris: Nearly 7 in 10 Americans opposed the Supreme Court’s decision to overturn Roe. And in every single state where abortion has appeared on the ballot since, voters have voted to protect reproductive rights! But the GOP isn’t listening.
