Katie Porter here. During my six years in Congress, I had the privilege of working with so many different amazing, brilliant, joyful staff. From policy nerds who helped me craft legislation and prepare for hearings, to campaign staff who raise money and knock doors, every person made a difference.
My staff taught me about issues, they got me places on time (no easy task!), they took meetings and phone calls to learn from our constituents, and most of all, they fought for a better America.
My PAC, Truth to Power, often supports Democratic candidates at the very beginning of their race. Sometimes these candidates are operating on tight budgets as they work to advance out of a congressional primary. Other times, they're challenging Republicans in districts where we've yet to see investment from big super PACs or national groups.
