Harris,
Last Friday, ICE launched a coordinated attack on immigrant workers in Los Angeles, backed by armored vehicles, drones, and militarized federal agents who stormed working-class neighborhoods like it was a battlefield.
These weren't criminal raids. These were administrative detentions, executed without judicial warrants, aimed squarely at terrifying immigrant communities.
Protesters poured into the streets. When SEIU California President David Huerta stood up to speak for the detained workers, he was arrested, too. That was no accident. This was a direct message from the Trump forces behind ICE that if you speak out, we'll come for you next.
The violence didn't end with the arrests. The situation escalated rapidly, and tear gas, rubber bullets, and the National Guard was deployed without state consent.
Let's be clear, this is state-sponsored violence against demonstrators. It's a grotesque abuse of power, and if we don't rise now, it will spread. These raids are an assault on immigrant rights, labor rights, and basic human decency.
The Senate must hear from us. Demand Senators stand up for an immediate halt to workplace raids and the violent abuse of military actions committed in Los Angeles now.
From the very beginning, Donald Trump and his enablers have weaponized immigration enforcement to build power off cruelty.
We need moral clarity, not political cowardice. And we need lawmakers with the guts to take on ICE and the broken immigration system that empowers them.
They came for immigrants with military tactics. Next, they'll come for union leaders, journalists, anyone who dares to resist. When the state has this kind of unchecked power, no one is safe. Their goal is to silence opposition, break movements, and pit us against each other.
The people are rising. From downtown LA to Detroit, Atlanta, and NYC, immigrant communities, labor unions, civil rights groups, and faith leaders are marching together.
Tell your Senators to stand with demonstrators, not against them. End funding for ICE's workplace crackdowns and stand against the use of military action against protestors now.
Let's stand with the workers who were dragged from their jobs, the families still searching for loved ones, and the communities left traumatized.
