The House GOP just passed a bill targeting nonprofits

The GOP's latest tax scam will gut nonprofits and silence opposition. We need to fight back now.

Harris, The House just passed a Republican-led tax bill that puts a target on the back of nonprofits. This is a full-blown assault on the organizations that feed the hungry, shelter the homeless, and fight for justice in every corner of our country. If this passes, we'll see massive new taxes on nonprofits, penalties for offering decent employee benefits, and deep cuts to the funding these groups rely on to survive. They're going after food banks, legal aid clinics, community health programs, LGBTQ+ youth centers, and organizations defending civil rights. The right-wing knows that nonprofits are often the first to call out injustice, expose corruption, and mobilize communities so they're doing what authoritarians always do, cut off their funding and cripple their operations. This bill is a Trojan horse for right-wing power grabs being sold as reform. It punishes generosity and compassion, and it rewards greed and cynicism. We cannot let the Senate rubber-stamp this disaster. Raise your voice now and demand that the Senate strip the anti-nonprofit poison from this bill. SIGN AND SEND They're targeting the infrastructure of activism. They're going after the nonprofits that register voters, hold town halls, file lawsuits, and push for change. This is a political attack aimed at movements that threaten entrenched power. It's a cowardly move by a party terrified of organized opposition. It's an ideological attack meant to permanently weaken the groups that dare to hold the line for democracy. We've got one last shot. The Senate hasn't voted yet. But they will soon.
