| Hi, Harris – nice to meet you! I’m Helen Smith, the Research Director here at the DGA. | Our research team has been getting down to business these first few weeks of the new year, and I’m writing to update you on some of the big wins Dem Govs have been securing in states across the country. But before I get into it, will you answer this one-click question from the DGA Digital Team? Your response is crucial to informing our forward-looking strategy and helping further the immense progress that Democratic governors are making! | Tell us: Are you voting for Democrats in 2024? | | |
Harris – as a top Democrat in 02136, I thought you’d want a report on just a handful of the good laws that Dem govs have recently signed into law! |
→ In Michigan, Governor Gretchen Whitmer’s Reproductive Health Act, a package of bills reversing politically-motivated restrictions on reproductive health care, goes into effect this year. This act keeps abortion providers accessible, ensures that students can access information about their reproductive health options, and more. |
→ In North Carolina, Governor Roy Cooper is building on his huge win to expand Medicaid throughout the state, making it more accessible for more people – 310,000 North Carolinians have already enrolled in Medicaid coverage since Gov. Cooper expanded the program last December! |
→ In Minnesota, elections have been made more fair, free, and safe ahead of this year’s crucial election thanks to the Democracy for the People Act that Governor Tim Walz signed last year. This act establishes automatic voter registration, further penalizes voter intimidation, and increases absentee ballot access. |
→ And in Illinois, Governor JB Pritzker made the state the first in the nation to ban book bans, pushing back against Republicans’ harmful restrictions on education starting January 1st. |
Harris, it’s clear that Democratic governors are fighting to protect our most fundamental rights. But from our research, it’s also clear that the GOP’s attacks on our rights are only getting stronger. Luckily, receiving input on our polls and surveys from grassroots supporters like you will help us elect Democratic governors that will continue to fight back against these attacks, and I’ve calculated that we need 71 more responses from 02136 to reach statistical significance. So we’re asking you to confirm where your support lies, Harris. |
Pls, represent 02136 tell us by 11:59 p.m.: |
