Sick and tired of Elon Musk? Read this.

We'll see you in court, Elon. This lawsuit could stop Elon Musk in his tracks.

Harris,

The cruel, indiscriminate cuts being imposed by Elon Musk and his DOGE minions are threatening our national security, health, food safety, Social Security, environment, public schools, airline safety… It's absolute chaos.1

It's also flagrantly illegal — and we're supporting a lawsuit to stop Elon Musk in his tracks.

With our backing, a group of federal workers has filed a lawsuit accusing Musk's team of illegally connecting an outside server to a key government network at the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) to harvest data, including the names and email accounts of federal employees.2

But going up against the richest man in the world could be a long and expensive fight, and we're counting on all our supporters to chip in whatever you can.

Will you make a donation to help support our work, including fighting back against Elon Musk's attempt to slash Social Security?

Let's be clear: No one voted for Elon Musk. He hasn't been confirmed to any senior position in the government by the U.S. Senate. It's not even clear who's in charge at DOGE.3

But yesterday, at the first cabinet meeting of the Trump administration, Musk held forth spewing one lie after another while the actual cabinet members sat there silent and apparently powerless.4

Musk is unilaterally shuttering entire government agencies, including the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, USAID, and the Department of Education.5 He's fired thousands of rank-and-file civil servants, including nurses, scientists, FBI agents, nuclear safety inspectors, water quality monitors, park rangers, infectious disease experts, veterans' suicide hotline staffers, and more.6

With your help, we're fighting back.

The lawsuit we're backing alleges that Musk's team illegally connected an outside server to a key network at the Office of Personnel Management (OPM), which is essentially the HR department for the federal government, handling key personnel functions like hiring and training new employees, managing benefits and salaries, and running background checks.7

Demand Progress is proud to be able to support these brave public servants and help provide the funding necessary for this legal battle. And your donations are absolutely essential to support all of our work.

Our message to Elon Musk: Hands off Social Security! Will you donate $20 to help defend Social Security and push for other key reforms?

With gratitude,

The team at Demand Progress Action
