Dear Harris,
For weeks, I've been warning that Donald Trump is staging on coup d'etat against the U.S. constitution.
But it's now become clear that Trump isn't just trying to dismantle American democracy. He's gunning to destroy democracy worldwide.
Yesterday, I was horrified to watch Donald Trump and JD Vance berate Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in the Oval Office after falsely calling Zelensky a dictator and blaming him for the invasion of his country by Russia.
It is now undeniably clear that under Donald Trump, the United States has switched sides in the global struggle between authoritarianism and democracy.
America now stands with the dictators.
It's despicable and unimaginably dangerous. Yet most of the mainstream media is still treating Trump with kid gloves, pretending that this is all more or less within the range of politics as usual.
That's why the work of Inequality Media is so crucial right now. We're sounding the alarm to our millions of followers across social media, helping to fuel a rising resistance movement that's showing up in grassroots protests and town hall meetings all over the country.
Now we need to ramp it up even more, so I'm asking you today: Will you make a monthly donation to help educate the public and stop Trump's assault on democracy?
It's vital that the American people connect the dots and understand what Trump is really up to.
The Trump-Vance-Musk regime is dismantling the checks and balances here at home in order to install themselves as an all-powerful oligarchy. They are empowering the nationalist far right in Europe and siding with Russia over Ukraine in order to divide European democracies and weaken the Western alliance.
Their goal is a world dominated by fascists and dictators — a world in which Trump, Musk, and Putin divvy up the planet's wealth and resources for their own personal gain.
Yet in the face of this existential threat, the U.S. news media refuses to accurately describe Trump as what he is: an aspiring authoritarian dictator aiming to destroy democracy here in the U.S. and around the world, and this is a huge, huge problem.
Because if the American people aren't adequately warned about the Trump-Musk-Vance assault on democracy, then they might not be able to stop them before it's too late.
It's up to us to sound the alarm, and we're making enormous progress. Since the election, our shares, views, and engagement have skyrocketed, allowing us to reach millions of people beyond our core audience. On YouTube alone, the "watch time" for our videos is up a remarkable 10x from one year ago.
That's why I'm asking you today: Will you make a monthly donation to help educate the public and stop Trump's assault on democracy?
Thank you,
Robert Reich
