TELL CONGRESS: The Trump administration is ramping up its targeted, illegal detention and persecution of pro-Palestinian student protesters for exercising their First Amendment rights. Sign the petition: Stop Trump's attempts to deport student protesters! Harris, The Trump administration is sweeping through college campuses illegally detaining and threatening to deport student protesters for their political views. After ICE targeted Mahmoud Khalil for his role in the Columbia University protests against the Israeli war on Gaza, a second Columbia student has been arrested, a third is being "hunted" by ICE, and a Cornell student has been asked to surrender to authorities.1,2,3 Trump is trying to chill dissent in America by viciously detaining and trying to deport students speaking out against his policies. He's also pressuring universities to comply with ICE or lose funding.4 Our elected leaders must stop the administration's targeted, illegal actions against students. Trump is sending ICE after legal U.S. residents like Khalil, and detaining and deporting people without due process — even defying court orders to execute the admin's cruel, lawless policies. These arrests are designed to spread terror throughout immigrant communities and the movement to oppose Trump. The administration's pressure campaign on universities is meant to make them fall in line, or else — and it worked at Columbia.5 Congress can't stand by and let the rule of law crumble in front of the world. Thanks for taking action, Sources:
