This FEC deadline is more important for us than most candidates

Harris, in a moment, I'm going to ask you to make a contribution to my campaign before our FEC deadline. But first, please give me a chance to explain why this request is so important.

Our country is desperate for a new generation to take up the fights against Donald Trump and Elon Musk. Democratic Party leaders like Chuck Schumer have shown they can no longer lead — I'm a teacher by day, but I take no time off from these fights as an activist, a civic leader, and candidate for Congress.

I was the lead plaintiff to sue Florida Governor Ron DeSantis in state court. Our case sought a judge's order for DeSantis to hold special legislative elections for seats he was keeping open to diminish Black Floridians' representation in the legislature.

We filed the suit, and DeSantis backed down. That lesson of fighting — no matter the odds — has stayed with me, and it's one that Democrats in Washington need to learn.

My opponent is under investigation by the House Ethics Committee and facing a lawsuit from the state of Florida for allegedly taking $5.7 million in taxpayer dollars overpaid to her company and using those millions to run for Congress.

If we are going to defeat Donald Trump and Elon Musk's attempt to install an oligarchic form of government, then we need to replace corrupt leaders with representatives who will fight for the people. That's what this campaign is about — chip in $5.00 ahead of our deadline to take on this political corruption and elect a real working class champion for FL-20.
