Harris, I have more unfortunate breaking news to share about my opponent's scandal-plagued time in Congress. The Campaign Legal Center, a nonprofit organization that works to advance democracy through law, filed an official complaint with the Federal Election Commission alleging my opponent "appears to have knowingly accepted prohibited corporate contributions." Harris, this scandal just gets worse and worse. While my opponent dodges cameras and questions to defend her flailing political career, she is robbing the people of FL-20 of our rightful voice in Congress. She is the subject of an ongoing congressional House Ethics Committee investigation for campaign finance violations. Her family-owned company, of which she was the CEO, faces a lawsuit for $5.8 million in missing taxpayer funds, a scandal that has clouded her time in Congress. Harris, I'm a teacher and an activist. My experiences surviving childhood homelessness, poverty, and food insecurity have fueled my fight to advocate on behalf of every South Floridian, but I don't have millions of dollars. This race is winnable, but it will take a people-powered grassroots movement to defeat this self-serving corruption and elect the working-class champion South Florida deserves.
