This isn't immigration enforcement, it's government repression

Harris, ICE is now targeting young people, students, activists, visa holders, not because they broke the law, but because they spoke up. Mahmoud Khalil, a lawful permanent resident, was abducted without a warrant. No lawyer. No warning. No contact with his pregnant wife. Tufts PhD student Rumeysa Ozturk was arrested for attending a peaceful demonstration, her visa revoked, her rights trampled, and transported across state lines against court orders. This is not a misunderstanding or a bureaucratic mix-up. This is deliberate. This is political. ICE agents, wearing masks and operating outside the law, are punishing students and activists who dare to show support for Palestinians. What started as surveillance has turned into secret detentions and deportations. It's a targeted assault on dissent, and it's being carried out in our name. We cannot let this stand. Congress must act with urgency. That means dragging ICE, DHS, and CBP into the light. No more hiding behind closed doors. No more vague statements. We want answers, and we want them now. But every day that passes without a public reckoning emboldens ICE and their enablers to escalate. If Congress doesn't step in, we will see more people disappeared, more visas revoked, and more lives upended. Rumeysa Ozturk didn't get due process. She didn't get a lawyer. She got shackled and flown thousands of miles away, despite a judge's order. This is not what a free country does. This is what a police state does. Mahmoud Khalil was taken off the street and denied any contact for days. His wife didn't know if he was dead or alive. This isn't enforcement. It's terror. ICE's leadership must be hauled before Congress and grilled under oath. We need a full public investigation into these politically motivated arrests and visa revocations. And above all, we need the immediate release of anyone being held for the "crime" of protest. Demand public testimony from the heads of ICE, DHS, and CBP and the release of detained students now!
