| Since day one, I’ve said the decision to have a child should rest solely between a woman and her doctor, not politicians or judges. |
| As Governor, I’ve expanded contraception access, vetoed anti-abortion bills from the state legislature, and signed executive orders to protect women and doctors from prosecution. I immediately called on the legislature to repeal this 1864 ban. And this November, I’m fighting alongside my fellow Arizonans to enshrine the right to an abortion in our state constitution. I won’t stop fighting until reproductive freedom is secured for all Arizonans. |

Democratic governors nationwide have protected reproductive rights in their states by signing legislation to codify abortion rights into state law, stockpiling abortion medication in the midst of Republican threats, and taking executive action to protect reproductive health and veto dangerous abortion bans. |
