Despite common misconceptions, the Equal Rights Amendment (ERA) which would guarantee women equal protection under the law, has never been officially adopted into our Constitution. The Trump administration blocked it, even after it met all necessary requirements in 2020.
In a time when hard-fought freedoms are being stripped away, the ERA holds more significance than just equal pay. It represents the restoration of women's ability to decide their own futures and the long-awaited guarantee of equal legal protections for them.
By passing a resolution to eliminate the artificial deadline imposed by Trump, Congress can clear the path for the ERA to become our 28th Amendment and ensure equal rights for all.
Derek Marshall is running to defeat Trump-backed Rep. Jay Obernolte, who has repeatedly voted against women's rights. In Congress, Derek Marshall will fight for equal rights!
Our mothers, sisters, daughters and friends deserve equality. Sign the petition and tell Congress to ratify the Equal Rights Amendment!
It's been more than 100 years since the ERA was introduced.
The ERA is not controversial: the vast majority of voters support an individual's right to make their own reproductive choices and overwhelmingly back the ERA.
In the upcoming elections, the future of women's rights hangs in the balance. We must vote OUT Republicans who vote against equality and elect defenders of democracy, like Derek, who will ratify the Equal Rights Amendment!
Please sign on to tell Congress to get the ERA ratified!
Without equality, there can be no democracy.
