After two failed votes in 2014 and 2019, 73% of workers at a Tennessee Volkswagen plant voted to join the United Auto Workers in a historic vote last week.
Many said it couldn't be done, insisting conservative areas just weren't worth organizing in.
As a Democrat, I hear the same thing when campaigning in rural and red areas.
But like the UAW, I know how important it is to organize everywhere, invest everywhere, and show up to fight year after year.
I'm Derek Marshall. I'm the union-endorsed Democratic nominee running to defeat a MAGA Republican in California's 23rd District.
Picketing with striking UAW workers in Rancho Cucamonga, CA last year.
In Congress, I'll vote to pass the PRO Act, cracking down on union-busting corporations and ensuring every worker has the right to organize a union.
But first, I need to defeat a Republican that just scored a 0% rating from the AFL-CIO.
