Hi Bunny, it's Sophia Lin Lakin, director of the ACLU's Voting Rights Project, and Jennifer Dalven, director of the ACLU's Reproductive Freedom Project. With the new year right around the corner, we're reaching out to share an update on our current work, as well as our plans to protect our most fundamental rights during Trump's next term. We won't sugarcoat it, Bunny: The next four years will be challenging. We at the ACLU will always show up to fight attempts to curtail civil rights, but this work requires a great deal of resources. In case you haven't taken advantage of our year-end 3x-match opportunity, we wanted to share what ongoing support like yours has already achieved for our work: In October, our legal team successfully blocked a rule in Georgia that would have required poll workers to hand-count ballots, introducing errors and chaos to the voting process. In July, we won a case in Mississippi challenging the state legislative district maps that diluted the power of Black voters. This month, our legal team challenged Arizona's abortion ban, expanding access to care in the state. Bunny, none of this would be possible without your support. We rely on the ongoing support of individuals like you to fuel our work – but we know that in 2025, we'll see a growing number of threats on our most fundamental freedoms, from voting rights to reproductive rights, and LGBTQ rights to free speech.
