| Dear Harris, I'm writing to you today to launch Inequality Media's year-end fundraising campaign with a goal of raising $250,000 by January 1. This might be our most important year-end fundraising campaign ever — and thanks to a generous donor, all year-end donations to Inequality Media will be matched 100%, up to $100,000. We are heading into the darkness of the most authoritarian America that I've ever lived in. The threats to democracy and the progressive movement are existential. Inequality Media was on the front lines battling Trump's agenda the first time around, and we're building an even bigger and more effective team to fight back this time (more on that below). But none of our work is possible without your generous support. That's why it's so important that we meet our year-end fundraising goal to make sure we can hit the ground running on January 1. Starting January 20, Trump and his MAGA lapdogs will have control of both houses of Congress and the Supreme Court, which has ruled that he is presumptively immune from prosecution for crimes committed in office. Trump's Project 2025 agenda is a blueprint for dismantling democracy, enriching the billionaire class, and shredding the social safety net. And a top item on his agenda is political revenge against his perceived enemies and the progressive movement. In the face of these threats, it's our duty to do all we can to defend the most vulnerable and reverse America's slide toward authoritarianism. Here's what we have planned for the year ahead: - We'll optimize on emerging platforms such as Bluesky where we've gone from 30k followers to 300k+ followers in the past month.
- We'll distribute our most persuadable videos on "connected TV" aka via devices that directly stream content such as Roku.
- We'll refine our use of testing to ensure that we're reaching the right audiences with the most effective messaging.
- We'll produce more videos tailored to platforms like TikTok and Instagram, meeting young people where they are and making complex issues more accessible.
- We'll continue to expose disinformation, especially on issues like inflation, health care, education, corporate power, and the corruption of "big money" where the mainstream media has often failed to hold those in power accountable.
- We'll develop more educational resources for schools, helping the next generation better understand civics and the economic and political forces shaping their lives.
I truly believe that the plan we're putting together will make a difference — but doing all of this and more will require resources.
