He wants to deport and detain tens of thousands of people

Justice Democrats

Harris,

Donald Trump's anti-immigrant and Islamophobic agenda is already ramping up in his first week back in office.

On Monday, the far-right president signed an executive order paving the way for a new, worse Muslim ban.

Al Jazeera: Trump decree paves way for 'Muslim ban', targeting pro-Palestine students

If implemented, this order would not only ban people from several Muslim-majority nations from entering the U.S. like the first time around, but it would revoke visas and deport students and other immigrants who participated in anti-war protests in support of peace in Palestine. It's a direct attack on freedom of speech.

A screenshot of a post on X from @IfNotNowOrg: We are disgusted that Trump & his antisemitic, neo-Nazi allies are planning to deport students & other immigrants for protesting the Israeli military's assult on Gaza, while gutting academic freedom by threatening to withhold billions in federal funding from universities.

And yesterday, Trump announced plans to use the Guantanamo Bay detention center to indefinitely detain tens of thousands of migrants.A screenshot of a post on X from Congresswoman Delia C. Ramirez. She is quoting a video of President Trump speaking with the caption 'Today I'm also signing an executive order to instruct the Department of Defense and Homeland Security to begin preparing the 30,000 person migrant facility at Guantanamo Bay. Most people don't even know about it.' Congresswoman Ramirez replied with 'Guantanamo hosted some of our most shameful acts of violence, dehumanization, and humiliation. It should be closed and the land returned to Cuba. No repurposed. Not expanded. And definitely not turned into a detention camp for immigrants. (1/2)'

These are despicable attacks targeted at immigrant and Muslim communities, but once again, Justice Democrats and the Squad will fight back just like we did the first time around.

We're not just resisting—we're fighting back. Together, we will challenge and speak out against this fascist administration's racism, xenophobia, and Islamophobia and our progressive incumbents are leading the fight to protect these targeted communities in their districts.

These attacks are meant to divide our communities against each other, but we know better. We know that our struggles are interconnected, an attack on one of us is an attack on all of us, and only by uniting our communities together can we build the movement that will defeat this billionaire-backed right-wing extremism.

In solidarity,

Justice Democrats
