“The war on crypto is over”

Justice Democrats

Cryptocurrency is back with a vengeance, Harris.

The crypto lobby accounted for almost half of all political donations in the 2024 election cycle, spending big on both Republicans and corporate Democrats. Crypto executives, companies, investors, and super PACs gave tens of millions to Donald Trump alone.

Why? To buy political influence, prevent regulation that protects consumers, and maximize their profits. And it's already working.

Trump appointed pro-crypto hedge fund manager Scott Bessent to lead the Treasury Department, and last week, he signed an executive order promoting crypto and exploring a national stockpile, promising to de-regulate it even further. Trump's crypto and artificial intelligence czar, venture capitalist David Sacks, declared "The war on crypto is over."

Not only that, but Trump himself is trying to profit off of the crypto industry while in office, launching the sale of his own meme coin, a volatile product that could cause economic harm to the consumers he's selling it to. It's his latest way of trying to profit off of his presidency and rip off everyday people.

It's not just Republicans like Trump propping up crypto in exchange for campaign contributions: many establishment Democrats including the incoming leader of the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand have taken money from this industry and support legislation to protect it from appropriate regulation.

This is exactly why we need more working-class progressives in Congress committed to standing up to the crypto industry. Will you support our 2026 candidate recruitment efforts with a grassroots donation of $5 today?

Contribute $5

The more we raise now, the better our chances of electing more working-class leaders next year!

In solidarity,

Justice Democrats
