Trump is trying to see how much he can get away with

Justice Democrats

You need to know two things right now, Harris.

First, news broke this morning that Donald Trump is freezing ALL federal aid, including grants and loans.

This is a HUGE power grab by the fascist-in-chief: only Congress has the authority to set the federal budget, and Trump is trying to halt federal aid that was already approved by legislators.

Tweet by Public Citizen: Trump ordered a federal spending freeze on all grants & loans. Students won't receive financial aid. Food assistance programs like SNAP are on pause. Programs like Medicaid and rental assistance will be impacted. All this does is make it harder for working people to survive.

His administration is threatening millions in federal funding for education, housing, healthcare, small businesses, and jobs that are already signed into law—cuts that will disproportionately harm everyday people who benefit from federal aid programs.

It's clear: Trump and his far-right administration are trying to see just how much they can get away with, which is why we need more working-class progressives in Congress who aren't afraid to fiercely fight back.

While Trump tries to sow chaos and confusion for working-class communities, we're trying to elect everyday people who will unite the working class against billionaires like him.

The second thing you need to know is that our first fundraising deadline of 2025 is rapidly approaching in just three days. Justice Democrats must raise $100,000 before January ends if we're going to have the resources to hire a new staff member committed to our 2026 Candidate Recruitment efforts.

Please, help us build our bloc of progressive, working-class champions in Congress to fight back against Trump's assault on our democracy: rush $5 or more to our Candidate Recruitment Fund before it's too late!

Contribute $5

In solidarity,

Justice Democrats
