Bunny, we're taking the Trump administration to court again – this time to challenge his order blocking trans and intersex people from getting passports that accurately reflect their gender. Already, the State Department has begun denying or withholding passports and other essential documents from trans people. But having inaccurate passport ID puts people in danger. Trans people would face being outed while flying, opening bank accounts, enrolling in school, and more – risking discrimination and violence. This is clearly another unconstitutional attempt to force trans people out of public life. We're facing a wave of transphobic orders that mandate discrimination. The Trump administration seems determined to deny trans people the freedom to live our lives safely and with dignity. Regardless of who you are, what you look like, how you dress, or where you're from, you deserve the right to move freely in the world without facing discrimination or harassment. These policies aren't just wrong and harmful – they're also illegal. Thanks to the support of ACLU members like you, we're able to take these cruel, unfair, and unlawful orders to court and we won't stop until every person has the freedom to be themselves without fear. Onward, The ACLU Team |
