Harris,
Mahmoud Khalil, a Palestinian activist and recent Columbia graduate, is still being wrongly detained by ICE for organizing campus protests last year.
But the Trump administration is only ramping up their attacks. Last week, the Department of Homeland Security announced they revoked a Columbia student's visa over her involvement in pro-Palestine protests.
The administration has already admitted that these students did not break any laws: they simply expressed opposition to Netanyahu's genocide against the Palestinian people.
This administration is beginning its crackdown on our free speech and freedom to peacefully protest with illegal attacks specifically targeting the pro-Palestine movement, but who's to say where it will end? All of our rights are at risk if we don't speak up and fight back.
And that's exactly what Justice Democrats like Rep. Rashida Tlaib are doing by calling out this fascism for what it is and taking action in office.
But the truth is, we have to elect more pro-Palestine progressives to Congress to stop the far-right from persecuting those calling for peace in Gaza and ripping away our rights. Each additional member we can add to our bloc is one more voice in the halls of power who can speak out and vote for legislation to stop them.
In solidarity,
Justice Democrats
