Harris,
We need local print media -- newspapers and magazines -- to tell communities the truth about Trump's intentional sabotage of the infrastructure.
The 2021 Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) and the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (IIJA) were game-changers -- historic investments designed to repair roads, modernize public transit, and create millions of sustainable jobs.
Remember "Infrastructure Week?" Trump announced it annually but never made it happen. Biden accomplished the bipartisan passage of these two infrastructure bills in his first year on the job, although it eluded Trump completely during his whole first term.
Now, however, as he resumes office, instead of allowing these much-needed funds to reach communities, Trump has imposed a broad funding freeze, blocking critical projects nationwide.
This obstruction isn't accidental -- it's a calculated political maneuver. Trump knows that if these infrastructure projects succeed, Americans will see government that is effective and that should be protected from the Trump-Musk wrecking ball. That's why he's standing in the way, even if it means undermining public safety, economic growth, and environmental conservation.
Send a direct message to newspapers in your state, demanding they cover Trump's reckless sabotage of America's future.
Some local examples of the nationwide freeze on infrastructure funding:
-
Port Decarbonization in Los Angeles -- Federal funds were designated to help transition port operations to electric equipment, reducing pollution and improving air quality for nearby communities that have suffered from toxic emissions for decades. Trump's blockade threatens these environmental and public health advancements.
-
Wildlife Crossings in North Carolina -- Conservationists secured $25 million to build crossings on Highway 64, protecting the critically endangered red wolf and reducing road fatalities for both humans and wildlife. Without funding, this vital conservation effort is at risk.
Local journalism plays a crucial role in exposing government corruption and obstruction. We need the media to report on how Trump's illegal funding freeze is stalling infrastructure projects, killing jobs, and endangering public safety.
Click here to urge your local newspapers to investigate and report on how Trump's spending freeze is harming your local community.
Thank you for encouraging your local media to look at the local effects of these nationwide policies.
