My name is Ryan Brown, I'm the President of Carolina Amazonians United for Solidarity & Empowerment (CAUSE), based out of the Raleigh-Durham warehouse (RDU1).
We just filed petitions with the National Labor Relations Board requesting an election to become the first unionized Amazon fulfillment center in the South, and only the second in the United States!
(that's me on the left)
Amazon must have known this was coming, because last month, they fired me. It was right before the holiday rush, which means the warehouse was understaffed during the busiest part of the year.
I was the third CAUSE organizer fired in the past year. We're not backing down. We're going to fight, and we're going to win.
Amazon workers are riding high on the groundswell of support during the Amazon Teamsters strike before Christmas. And we can tell you―it has Amazon scared.
Nothing about this process has been easy. We've watched how Amazon treated worker-organizers in Bessemer, AL and our comrades at Amazon Labor Union. We've been learning lessons. And we're ready to win.
I want to thank the Six PAC for their solidarity in amplifying our message. Together, we will win!
In solidarity,
Ryan Brown
President
Carolina Amazonians United for Solidarity & Empowerment (CAUSE)
