Hi Harris, it's Delia Ramirez, Congresswoman for Illinois' 3rd Congressional District.
The results of the November election made it clear that we need a Democratic Party, from Chicago to Washington, that is by working-class people, for working-class people.
That is why Justice Democrats is working to recruit working-class progressive champions to run for Congress in 2026: people who will fight for working-class families and communities, like the one I grew up in. We need your support now to help make it happen.
Last year, I was proud to be endorsed by Justice Democrats and stand with the Squad in Congress. We are committed to delivering results for everyday people and believe in the power of our progressive movement — even when AIPAC and their GOP megadonor network spent over $100 million to defeat bold and outspoken progressive leaders like Representatives Jamaal Bowman and Cori Bush.
I am the daughter of working-class Guatemalan immigrants, the wife of a DACA recipient, and a former director of a homeless shelter. The fight against Donald Trump and his dangerous policies is deeply personal to me. I have witnessed firsthand the impacts of legislative inaction and neglect on our working-class communities. That's why I'm here, fighting every day for a better future—for all of us, not just the privileged few.
Justice Democrats is working hard to protect the progress we've made and achieve the bold, populist policies we deserve, but we need grassroots support to identify, amplify, and support progressive leaders who can win in 2026. The work starts now — and we need the resources to ensure we can keep up the fight over these next two years.
We know far-right and corporate forces will do everything in their power to stop us — but we will give it our all to level the playing field for everyday working people. And that starts by electing more working-class leaders to Congress.
Together,
Delia
