Harris,
Trump seems to have given up on trying to make groceries cheaper.
Wasn't that what the entire election was supposedly about?
Well, now he admits he won't be lowering grocery prices after all. He told Time Magazine: "I'd like to bring them down. It's hard to bring things down once they're up. You know, it's very hard."
You bet it will be hard, considering Trump's plans for the economy!
Check out this week's video, where we'll be looking at several specific policies of Trump's that are virtually guaranteed to raise your grocery bill. Then, share with your friends, so we can get the word out about Trump's true loyalties and intentions.
Not to give the whole store away, but we'll be looking at:
-
Corporate tax cuts, and how Walmart, the nation's largest grocer, has been spending the money they got from Trump's first round of tax cuts in 2017;
-
Trump's proposed 25% tariffs on goods coming from Canada and Mexico, and how those tariffs will hit our pocketbooks;
-
The FTC's abandonment of the supposed "war on mergers"," in favor of supporting the consolidation of grocery monopolies, which will kill competition and increase prices; and
-
Trump's cruel plans to deport millions of immigrants, which will result in labor shortages and – you guessed it – higher grocery prices.
What's the bottom line? Let's be clear: Trump never had any plan to bring down grocery prices and help working families.
Because he doesn't care about you – he only cares about his corporate donors and billionaire buddies.
So when your wallet takes a hit at the grocery store, know whom to blame.
