When then Attorney General Kamala Harris appointed me to be California's watchdog over the Big Banks during the foreclosure crisis

Hey Harris,
If you've got three minutes, I want to share a bit about the kind of governor I'll be.
When then Attorney General Kamala Harris appointed me to be California's watchdog over the Big Banks during the foreclosure crisis, I didn't have much formal power. I had a shoestring budget and a single part-time staffer.
But, I also had a commitment to doing right by Californians and the spirit to never give up. Through hard work and perseverance, we were able to recover billions of dollars to help families get back on their feet.
When I launched my first-ever political campaign after Donald Trump's election in 2016, pundits didn't believe we could win. It was a historically Republican area that no Democrat had ever represented in 70+ years.
I didn't listen to the naysayers. We built a team of staff and volunteers, spoke to thousands and thousands of voters, and ultimately flipped the seat from red to blue.
As California's next governor, I'm not going to be complacent while MAGA Republicans attack our rights or while our cost-of-living crisis stretches families even thinner. I'm going to get to work and bring everyone to the table to solve our state's biggest challenges.
I've never been afraid of hard work, but I can't run a winning campaign alone. Can I count on your support?
