These Democrats censured one of their own

The establishment is still more concerned with following the rules than fighting back.

Justice Democrats

Harris,

Did you see ten establishment Democrats in Congress voted to censure Rep. Al Green for his peaceful protest during Donald Trump's joint address?

A post on X from Jake Sherman reading: DEM YES VOTES on censuring Rep. Al Green: Ami Bera (Calif.), Ed Case (Hawaii), Jim Costa (Calif.), Laura Gillen (N.Y.), Jim Himes (Conn.), Chrissy Houlahan (Pa.), Marcy Kaptur (Ohio),Jared Moskowitz (Fla.), Marie Gluesenkamp Perez (Wash.), Tom Suozzi (N.Y.)

These ten Democrats don't have the courage to stand up to Trump themselves, so they punished a colleague who does, all for the sake of 'decorum.' It's just like when a group of moderate, AIPAC-backed Democrats (some of the same ones on this list) voted to censure Rep. Rashida Tlaib, the only Palestinian-American in Congress, for speaking up against the genocide and ethnic cleansing of Palestinians.

While the very fascism the Democratic Party warned us about during the 2024 election is here and wreaking havoc during Trump's second term, the establishment is still more concerned with following the rules than fighting back.

This is exactly why the Democratic Party needs more competitive primaries: to remove these out-of-touch politicians who lack the leadership and determination to fight for what is right.

Justice Democrats has been challenging – and defeating – establishment Democrats like this since we helped elect AOC in 2018, and we need all hands on deck heading into the 2026 midterms.

Can you help us hold the establishment's feet to the fire with a donation of $5 or more today? Your dollars will be put to work expanding our progressive bloc – one that will actually fight Trump – in Congress.

Contribute $5

In solidarity,

Justice Democrats
