Harris,
From prescription deliveries for seniors, to vote-by-mail ballots, to critical services in rural communities, the U.S. Postal Service remains one of the most trusted public institutions in America.
But right now, the USPS is under direct threat, again, from privatization schemes championed by Donald Trump and his billionaire cronies like Elon Musk. They're pushing to fold the USPS into the Department of Commerce or sell it off piece by piece to private carriers.
If we don't stop them, the public Postal Service could become a corporate profit center, with higher prices, fewer services, and no obligation to serve every American.
Thankfully, there's a bipartisan effort in Congress to slam the brakes on this privatization plan. These resolutions will reaffirm that the USPS must remain an independent public service, not a corporate entity, and push back against the idea that our postal system should be auctioned off to the highest bidder.
This is a moment for public pressure. Labor unions like the American Postal Workers Union are fighting tooth and nail. But they need you to speak up. Tell Congress to Save the USPS. Pass the Bipartisan Resolution to Stop Trump's Privatization Plan Now!
Let's be clear: privatizing the USPS would be a disaster. It would slash delivery in rural communities, make mail more expensive, and gut one of the last standing unionized workforces in this country, over 640,000 strong.
In places where private carriers refuse to operate because it's not "cost-effective," the USPS shows up anyway. That's what "universal service" means. That's what the American people deserve.
We've seen this playbook before. Trump and his allies try to underfund the Postal Service, then use its financial woes as an excuse to dismantle it. But the USPS's challenges aren't because it's public, they're because of intentional sabotage.
If the USPS gets privatized, the winners will be billionaires who can afford to build private mail systems. The losers? Seniors on fixed incomes. Families in rural towns. Small businesses. Nonprofits. We can't let that happen.
Trump is already working to gut the Postal Service. We need every member of Congress to hear loud and clear, back off our USPS.
Let's keep the USPS in the hands of the people.
