Hey Harris, it's Betsy! I'm Katie Porter's daughter.
My mom just announced that she's running to be California's next governor!
We talked a lot about whether or not my mom should run. We talked about Election Night and how sad and worried we both were when Trump won. But my mom said that we're lucky to live in California because the governor can do things like protect abortion and fight climate change.
I know my mom will make a great governor!! She's definitely not a pushover—not for "special interests" or for anyone (including our dog, Poppy!).
She writes a lot of these emails, but I helped her out by writing this one. She says these really make a difference for our campaign, so if you can give $5 or $10 it really helps.
